Why Custom URLs Matter

By default, our system generates URLs based on your content titles. While this works well for basic English content, we recognized the challenges this created for:
  • Content with diacritical marks (é, ü, ñ, etc.)
  • Non-Latin languages like Japanese, Chinese, and Korean
  • Complex titles that benefit from simpler, more memorable URLs
For example, "Comment préparer une crème brûlée délicieuse" would previously become "/article/comment-prpare-une-crme-brle-dlicieuse" - not ideal for readers or search engines.

How to Use Custom URLs

Setting a custom URL is simple! Just add your preferred URL in the new Custom_url field in your Articles, Authors, and Categories tables. Whatever you enter will override the default URL generation.
This feature gives you complete flexibility to:
  • Create cleaner, more professional URLs
  • Maintain proper character representation for all languages
  • Craft shorter, more memorable links
  • Improve your SEO strategy with keyword-focused URLs
If you created your blog after February 25, 2025, the Custom_url field is already available in your template. For blogs created before this date, you'll need to add the field manually to your tables.
Remember to regenerate all pages from your dashboard for changes to take effect!
